《新課標(biāo)培優(yōu)專項(xiàng)通·英語隨身讀》系列叢書是面向中學(xué)生的一套閱讀輔助教材。初中每年級(jí)一冊(cè)，共3冊(cè)；高中每學(xué)期一冊(cè)，共6冊(cè)。入選的文章體裁多樣，有敘述文、小故事、新聞、論說文、廣告、說明文等，具有趣味性、時(shí)代性、可思性，與學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)、生活密切相關(guān)。每篇閱讀配有少量形式多樣的練習(xí)，以增進(jìn)英語的習(xí)得。既可提高學(xué)生英語素養(yǎng)，又能增強(qiáng)學(xué)生的應(yīng)試能力。    本冊(cè)是《新課標(biāo)培優(yōu)專項(xiàng)通·英語隨身讀》系列叢書的最后一本，主要面向高中三年級(jí)的學(xué)生。全書包含三個(gè)部分：第一部分為閱讀試題；第二部分為高考自選模塊試題；第三部分為短文改錯(cuò)試題。與前面八冊(cè)不同，本冊(cè)由試題構(gòu)成。毫無疑問，試題用于測(cè)試，但是，答題也是學(xué)習(xí)的一種極為有效的手段：試題中學(xué)習(xí)焦點(diǎn)集中、明確，常常給學(xué)習(xí)者留下深刻的印象。所以，建議學(xué)習(xí)本冊(cè)的讀者切不可做了試題、對(duì)了答案就完事，而是要學(xué)會(huì)思考，善于從答對(duì)的題中學(xué)習(xí)，更要善于從答錯(cuò)的題中學(xué)習(xí)！    本書的第一部分和第二部分與閱讀相關(guān)。第一部分題型是傳統(tǒng)的多項(xiàng)選擇題，這是大規(guī)?？荚囃ǔ２捎玫念}型。第二部分中的高考自選模塊試題在題型上分別為：（1）要求考生閱讀一篇留有四個(gè)空缺的短文和短文后的五段文字選項(xiàng)，然后依據(jù)短文內(nèi)容，從這五個(gè)選項(xiàng)中選出能夠填入短文空缺的四個(gè)最佳選項(xiàng)。補(bǔ)全后的短文意義連貫、結(jié)構(gòu)完整。接著，依據(jù)同一篇短文回答一個(gè)問題。（2）要求考生閱讀一篇帶有十個(gè)空白的短文，依據(jù)文章的意義，在文章的空白處填入一個(gè)單詞的正確形式。補(bǔ)全后的短文意義連貫、結(jié)構(gòu)完整。這部分考題主要考查學(xué)生對(duì)英語的綜合運(yùn)用的能力，包括對(duì)篇章整體意義和結(jié)構(gòu)的理解、對(duì)語法的運(yùn)用以及書面表達(dá)能力?？傮w而言，閱讀理解能力包含以下幾個(gè)方面：　?。?）理解文章的主旨和要義；（2）理解文章的具體信息；（3）根據(jù)上下文推斷生詞的詞義；（4）依據(jù)文章做出簡單的判斷和推理；（5）理解文章的基本結(jié)構(gòu)；（6）理解作者的意圖、觀點(diǎn)和態(tài)度。在做多項(xiàng)選擇題時(shí)，要注意以上能力的運(yùn)用。另外，必須注意的是：答題總是以文章為依據(jù)，這就是說，答案要在文章找到根據(jù)。    在一般的試卷中，第三部分中的短文改錯(cuò)題通常作為寫作題。但是真實(shí)的語言技能運(yùn)用總是綜合的，與傳統(tǒng)的短文改錯(cuò)題不同，本書提供的短文改錯(cuò)題開放度大，更接近日常生活中的改錯(cuò)，學(xué)生必須在理解全文的基礎(chǔ)上對(duì)文章進(jìn)行修改，從而更好地體現(xiàn)了語言在語境中的運(yùn)用。

　　Scientists say they have developed a camera that can help identify when a person is not telling the truth.The new camera measures the heat released（釋放）by aperson’S face.　　The scientists say the camera correctly identified lying in more than eighty percent of the people they tested.They say the camera might one day be used in high-level security operations at airports or border crossings?！　ames Levine of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester，Minnesota led the studv Nature magazine reported the findings.　　The scientists based their work on the theory that people who plan to trick someone release physical or chemical signals.They say these signals can help security officials prevent wrongdoing.　　The Mayo Clinic researchers worked with scientists at Honeywell Laboratories to develop the new，heat-imaging technology.Doctor Levine says the camera 1S designed to measure small changes in the body.He notes that the flow of blood to the surface of the skin increases around the eyes when a person lies.　　The scientists used twenty people to test the heat.sensing camera.Eight of the people took part in a crime that was not real.They attacked a human.like object and stole money from it.They were asked to lie and say they were innocent of the crime.The twelve other people in the study were told nothing about the make-believe crime.　　The researchers used the special camera while questioning the twenty peoDle about the crime.The camera showed that six of the eight people who carried out the crime had increased heat around their eyes when they lied.Eleven of the twelve people who knew nothing about the crime were correctly identified as innocent.When they told the truth，the area around their eyes remained cool.　　The researchers say the rate of success of the test was similar to the current polygraph（波動(dòng)描寫器）method of lie detection.Polygraph tests measure changes in heart rate，breathing and the wetness of a person，S skin.
