《美國文學(xué)教程》旨在引導(dǎo)教師和學(xué)生全面系統(tǒng)地了解和研究美國文學(xué)的發(fā)展歷程,探究美國社會(huì)思潮以及文化脈絡(luò),學(xué)習(xí)和理解各個(gè)時(shí)期的作家及其作品,提高文學(xué)修養(yǎng),增添文學(xué)興趣,提高英語語言能力、理解能力和欣賞水平。 本教程將美國文學(xué)按歷史發(fā)展的階段分成四個(gè)部分:殖民地和建國時(shí)期文學(xué);浪漫主義時(shí)期文學(xué);現(xiàn)實(shí)主義時(shí)期文學(xué);現(xiàn)代主義文學(xué)。本教程共八個(gè)章節(jié),集中介紹了43位美國著名的文學(xué)家和他們的優(yōu)秀作品。全書以英文為主。每個(gè)章節(jié)均有歷史背景介紹、作家生平簡介、代表作品選讀、選篇注釋和賞析思考題。并附錄有:美國文學(xué)編年表、文學(xué)術(shù)語闡述、思考題參考答案和四套綜合練習(xí)題集。 本教程最大的特色是:現(xiàn)代主義時(shí)期的文學(xué)所占篇幅較大,涉及的作家和作品較多;附錄材料較豐富,尤其是編寫的綜合練習(xí)題集,便于教師和學(xué)生檢測(cè)學(xué)習(xí)效果;賞析思考題有針對(duì)性;教材適應(yīng)面寬,可以作為高等學(xué)校英語專業(yè)本科生的教材及參考書,研究生輔助讀本,亦可作為非英語專業(yè)的大學(xué)生的文學(xué)課外讀物以及廣大文學(xué)愛好者的賞析讀本。為了便于教師課堂教學(xué)和學(xué)生自主學(xué)習(xí),我們還將該教程電子課件制作成了光盤。
