前言

  會(huì)展業(yè)有經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展和社會(huì)進(jìn)步的“助推器”之稱。會(huì)展產(chǎn)業(yè)鏈涉及的行業(yè)諸多,除了會(huì)展項(xiàng)目策劃、會(huì)展項(xiàng)目銷售、會(huì)展項(xiàng)目運(yùn)營(yíng)、還有廣告和物流、場(chǎng)館裝修設(shè)計(jì)、設(shè)備生產(chǎn)、酒店服務(wù)等,其就業(yè)前景非常寬廣。會(huì)展專家稱組展工作包括大大小小1000多項(xiàng)工作,是復(fù)雜的系統(tǒng)工程,但會(huì)展的組織有一套清晰的流程,這些工作可以大致分為:展前策劃,展前準(zhǔn)備,展中管理和展后階段?! ”窘滩膰?yán)格遵循會(huì)展流程順序,線索明晰。其側(cè)重培養(yǎng)用英語進(jìn)行會(huì)展服務(wù)與接待的交際能力以及會(huì)展整個(gè)流程中的策劃、管理、營(yíng)銷、物流、談判、設(shè)計(jì)及其他工作中的溝通能力,特別是口頭表達(dá)能力。本書突出了口語練習(xí)部分:Section I(a sample dialogue)側(cè)重對(duì)對(duì)話的理解和模仿;Section II(communication activities)緊扣每課主題,不僅給出了情景,提供了sample dialogue,還提供了在具體的每個(gè)情景里需要的詞匯和表達(dá)法。練習(xí)的目的是適應(yīng)全球化趨勢(shì)和提高與國(guó)外參展商打交道的能力。考慮到學(xué)生相關(guān)就業(yè)前景不局限于某個(gè)領(lǐng)域,本書一直堅(jiān)持從會(huì)展業(yè)中的兩大主要參與者——參展商和組展商兩者的立場(chǎng)來編寫。如第三單元“會(huì)展籌備”,第四單元“參展”和七單元“會(huì)展策略”都從參展商和組展商不同的角度分成不同的兩節(jié)教學(xué)內(nèi)容。  考慮到會(huì)展英語專業(yè)性強(qiáng),語言要求高,初步接觸者學(xué)習(xí)較吃力,本書在英語語言要求方面降低了一個(gè)層次,在sample dialogue(對(duì)話范例)和expansion reading(閱讀篇章)前都加注了導(dǎo)讀,并通過英漢術(shù)語匹配題和漢譯英等練習(xí)輔助理解。本書的難易程度適中,既適合高職高專的課堂教學(xué),又可供會(huì)展從業(yè)人員自學(xué)。同時(shí)教學(xué)內(nèi)容以和學(xué)生的生活和就業(yè)較密切的國(guó)內(nèi)會(huì)展為主導(dǎo),輔之以相應(yīng)的國(guó)外內(nèi)容。本書精確定位學(xué)生學(xué)時(shí),計(jì)劃一周2個(gè)課時(shí),一個(gè)學(xué)期36個(gè)總課時(shí)量,全書共7個(gè)單元,14個(gè)課程。本書中生詞表中呈現(xiàn)的單詞詞性均為本篇文章中所使用的詞性,不涉及其他情形下的詞性。

  Create a Show-Specific Brochure  Considering the cost of attending most shows,you may find that creating a show—specificpiece for that particular audience is a good investment.You can create a piece that is concise andtargeted.You can give them a copy on the spot or send them what t11ey need after the showcloses.  Be Careful in Distributing Giveaways  If your giveaway doesn’t bring you customers,don’t use it.If you choose to use a giveaway,make sure that you are trading the prize for your visitor’S name,address,phone number andbuying criteria.Get the information your sales staff needs to improve the sale.Select items thatreflect the quality ofyour company.You.don’t want your logo on a cheap pen that doesn’t write.One of the senseless giveaways is bottles of water.It doesn’t even leave the show floor and thetrashcans are littered with the sponsoring company’S logo.It won’t help the prospects toremember who you are when they throw away something you’ve given them.Select giveawaysthat get business.These kinds of giveaways should be something really useful,and they shouldbe kept in a place where the prospect will refer to them when the need for your product arises.Tools make excellent giveaways.For example,a plastic slide ruler is most welcome for everystand visitor.
