《語(yǔ)篇研究：跨越小句的意義》由馬丁教授和羅斯博士合著，本書(shū)是馬丁對(duì)其《英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)篇：系統(tǒng)和結(jié)構(gòu)》(English Text：systern and Structure)的發(fā)展和應(yīng)用，是篇章語(yǔ)義學(xué)研究的又一力作。     本書(shū)將系統(tǒng)功能語(yǔ)言學(xué)中較晦澀的理論“平民化”，對(duì)一些難懂的術(shù)語(yǔ)作了深入淺出的解釋和例析。書(shū)中所采用的語(yǔ)料包括多種語(yǔ)類，如故事、議論和立法。本書(shū)最大的貢獻(xiàn)是作者提出的分析語(yǔ)篇的五種視角，即評(píng)價(jià)(Appralsal)、概念(Ideatiorl)、聯(lián)結(jié)Connection)、識(shí)別(Icierltlflcation)和篇章格律(Periodicity)，并在第七章里將這五種視角綜合運(yùn)用于分析南非前總統(tǒng)曼德拉自傳最后一章。     本書(shū)充分體現(xiàn)和發(fā)展了韓禮德的系統(tǒng)功能語(yǔ)言學(xué)思想，將語(yǔ)篇分析從詞匯語(yǔ)法層上升到大語(yǔ)篇層。本書(shū)言簡(jiǎn)意賅，邏輯嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)，提供的方法易于操作，是一部不可多得的語(yǔ)篇分析指導(dǎo)用書(shū)。
