內(nèi)容概要

改革開放以來，在我國的工業(yè)門類中，電力工業(yè)發(fā)展最為迅速。各大電網(wǎng)已覆蓋全國城市和大部分農(nóng)村，我國的發(fā)電裝機(jī)容量和發(fā)電量均居世界第二位。我國電力工業(yè)已進(jìn)入以大機(jī)組、大電廠、大電網(wǎng)、超高壓、自動化為主干的新時期。
    然而，隨著我國經(jīng)濟(jì)的不斷發(fā)展和人民生活水平的提高，尤其是中國加入WTO后，國內(nèi)電力供應(yīng)日趨緊張。現(xiàn)有的發(fā)電裝機(jī)容量和發(fā)電量已不能適應(yīng)現(xiàn)代化建設(shè)的需要，急需登上一個新的臺階。而電力工業(yè)的崛起將依賴于一大批素質(zhì)高，業(yè)務(wù)強(qiáng)，懂英語的電力科技人才。
    那么電力行業(yè)對技術(shù)人才的英語水平有何種要求？顯然英語4級、6級證書并不能說明持證者應(yīng)用英語的實(shí)際水平。我們認(rèn)為懂英語就是要能用英語進(jìn)行聽說讀寫譯全方位的活動。懂英語就是要能在商務(wù)談判、學(xué)術(shù)交流中與外國同行用英語進(jìn)行自由的交談，探討電廠建設(shè)、電力生產(chǎn)、傳輸、銷售等各個方面的問題。懂英語就是能用規(guī)范的英語撰寫論文、報告、信函。顯然目前的培養(yǎng)模式和英語教材已無法適應(yīng)新型的電力科技人才的培養(yǎng)。為此我們必須開始新一輪的教改。我們的目的是徹底改變電力學(xué)院畢業(yè)生的外語素質(zhì)，使他們在未來能充分利用自己在外語方面的優(yōu)勢，在電力人才市場占有一席之地。
    具有60年校史的上海電力學(xué)院是培養(yǎng)電力科技工作者和電力系統(tǒng)急需人才的搖籃。為培養(yǎng)造就更多的能與國際電力水平接軌的復(fù)合型人才，我們組織了英語專家學(xué)者，精心編寫了一套覆蓋聽說讀寫譯5個方面、涵蓋電力行業(yè)方方面面的新編電力英語教程。
    叢書特色：“新編電力英語教程”深入淺出、內(nèi)容豐富、涉獵廣泛、題材多樣。融科學(xué)性、趣味性和實(shí)用性為一體，以新、大、全為特色。突出了基本功的培養(yǎng)。叢書共分3卷，每卷由3個分冊組成，各冊內(nèi)容分別為：
