　　《民間染織（英文版）》Since antiquity，China，the birthplace of sericulture，has enjoyed a worldwide reputation for its woven and dyed silk fabrics，fabrics of great decorative and practical value by reason of their exquisite，simple and stately patterns and rich local character.　　In China，there are eight most famous types of brocade，namely，Miao brocade，Zhuang brocade，Yao brocade，Dong brocade，Dai brocade，Buyi brocade，Tujia brocade and Maonan brocade.There are also derivative varieties such as batiks，tie-dyed fabrics and indigo prints，all having their own particularities.　　This book covers some 30 kinds of woven and dyed products popular among the peoples of different parts of China.They are noted for their superb patterns and highly decorative，academic and practical value.It is hoped that the book will provide an overall visual picture of Chinese folk art of weaving and dyeing.
