前言

作者簡(jiǎn)介
顧大僖,男,上海師范大學(xué)外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院英語(yǔ)教授,學(xué)科與教學(xué)論(英語(yǔ)方向)博士生導(dǎo)師。上海市外文學(xué)會(huì)委員,常委。上海市第九屆。第十屆政協(xié)委員,上海市歐美同學(xué)會(huì)留美分會(huì)理事。長(zhǎng)期擔(dān)任高校英語(yǔ)教學(xué)。主要從事英語(yǔ)教學(xué)法、英語(yǔ)測(cè)試,翻譯籌課程的研究與實(shí)踐。開設(shè)過(guò)專業(yè)英語(yǔ)高年級(jí)綜合英語(yǔ),泛讀,英語(yǔ)寫作。口語(yǔ)與口譯。翻譯,測(cè)試籌課程。曾發(fā)表論文10余篇。出版譯著20余部,并參與編寫出版了《英語(yǔ)同義詞詞典》、《漢英大辭海》、《英語(yǔ)辨析大詞典》,《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)成功策略》等工具書及《新視野大學(xué)英語(yǔ)》,《綜合教程》籌英語(yǔ)教材。

The ILO commissioned 26 political, labor and economic leaders to survey opinions in countries and prepare proposals to better address globalization issues. The results are outlined in the report, "A Fair Globalization: Creating Opportunities for All. " "The future of our countries, and the destiny of our globe, demand that we all rethink globalization," Mrs. Halonen and Mr. Mkapa said. The commission says the social dynamics of globalization often are disregarded by governments and institutions and that steps need to be taken to incorporate social issues into the public debate. But Bill Murray, spokesman for the International Monetary Fund, argued that social development has been considered by the IMF and in documents such as the United Nations Millennium Declaration, a broad mission statement issued by the world body to mark the new millennium. "Its been pretty clear in recent years that social development takes a prominent role," he said. The ILO report said there is a need for international organizations dealing with development to coordinate their policies. The separate agendas of the organizations sometimes undermine each other, it said. The authors said the United Nations is best equipped to handle that coordination. Globalization is occurring without proper governance to guide it, the report said. It recommends a globalization forum that would bring together the major actors, such as the IMF, the World Bank and the United Nations among others, to formulate policy initiatives. This forum also would produce a "State of Globalization" annual review. "There is a rather great disjunct between the institutions created after World War lI and the needs for the future," said John Sewell, a senior scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Mr. Sewell said political leaders hold the key to reaching a global consensus on social issues. "Those institutions are really the property of their members. Until the heads of government decide they want to do things, its hard for them to do it themselves. "
