《英語口譯實(shí)務(wù)（3級(jí)）（輔導(dǎo)）》以“英語口譯實(shí)務(wù)”考試大綱為編寫原則，循《英語口譯實(shí)務(wù)（3級(jí)）》指定教材的編寫思路和題材，安排了“禮儀祝辭”、“國際交流”、“旅游觀光”、“文化教育”、“體育運(yùn)動(dòng)”、“新聞出版”、“衛(wèi)生保健”、“商務(wù)會(huì)談”、“管理策略”、“國情報(bào)告”、“會(huì)展介紹”、“信息時(shí)代”、“經(jīng)濟(jì)合作”、“科學(xué)技術(shù)”、“表演藝術(shù)”和“國際關(guān)系”16個(gè)單元，單元主題與指定教材的單元主題完全一致。     作為教材的最佳教學(xué)伴侶，本書為了加強(qiáng)學(xué)習(xí)者口譯能力的系統(tǒng)培養(yǎng)，增加了聽力和口譯練習(xí)，其中聽力訓(xùn)練包括了“聽與復(fù)述”、“聽與跟述”和“聽與筆記”三部分，口譯訓(xùn)練包括了“漢英篇章口譯”和“英漢篇章口譯”兩部分。    學(xué)生口譯能力的提高還有賴于其詞匯量和常用語的增加，為此本書中增列了一定量的詞語，這些詞語可用以聽、說、譯教學(xué)輸入輸出語料，也可以充實(shí)學(xué)生的詞語庫，供日后的口譯考試或口譯工作之用。    由于本書的一項(xiàng)重要使命就是幫助學(xué)生積極備考，了解考試的形式、項(xiàng)目和范圍，因此特在每單元的最后部分提供了一套模擬考卷，從考試形式到考題難度均與全國翻譯專業(yè)資格（水平）考試的“口譯實(shí)務(wù)（3級(jí)）”相吻合。全書共含16套模擬考卷，既可供學(xué)習(xí)者自測之用，也可供教師檢測教學(xué)的階段性進(jìn)展程度，同時(shí)可以滿足考生的備考之需。

作者簡介

梅德明于1977年畢業(yè)于上外英語專業(yè)并留校在英語系任教。1982年獲聯(lián)合國發(fā)展計(jì)劃署留美獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金，次年在紐約州立大學(xué)奧伯尼分校獲理學(xué)碩士學(xué)位。1990年赴美賓州印第安納大學(xué)攻讀“語言學(xué)與修辭學(xué)”專業(yè)博士學(xué)位，1994年獲哲學(xué)博士學(xué)位。1991年至1992年在賓州印第安納大學(xué)主講“東方文明史”課程，1992年至1994年在賓州印第安納大學(xué)英語系主講“大學(xué)英語寫作”和“研究寫作”兩門課程。
    梅德明現(xiàn)主要從事語言學(xué)與應(yīng)用語言學(xué)研究和口譯研究，主講研究生課程“形式句法學(xué)”、“現(xiàn)代語言學(xué)”、“心理語言學(xué)”、“認(rèn)知語言學(xué)”、“語言哲學(xué)論”、“語言習(xí)得理論”、“口譯研究與實(shí)踐”等。學(xué)術(shù)成果500多萬字，著有《現(xiàn)代語言學(xué)》、《現(xiàn)代語言學(xué)簡明教程》、《大學(xué)英語口語教程》、《新編英語教程》（修訂版）、《高級(jí)口譯教程》、《中級(jí)口譯教程》、《英語口譯教程》、《英語口譯實(shí)務(wù)》、《英漢口譯實(shí)踐》、《漢英口譯實(shí)踐》、《展望未來英語教程》（改編版）、《英語聽寫學(xué)習(xí)教程》、《公共關(guān)系理論與實(shí)踐》（譯作），以及“普遍語法與原則－參數(shù)理論”、“論句子的邏輯式”、“英語量詞理論對(duì)比研究”等論文?！缎戮幱⒄Z教程修訂版》列為國家級(jí)高?！熬盼濉敝攸c(diǎn)教材并獲上海市高校教學(xué)成果一等獎(jiǎng)、國家級(jí)教學(xué)成果二等獎(jiǎng)，《大學(xué)英語口語教程》獲上海市高校優(yōu)秀教材獎(jiǎng)，《高級(jí)口譯教程》獲華東地區(qū)優(yōu)秀教材獎(jiǎng)、上海市高校優(yōu)秀教材獎(jiǎng)。主持國家和上海市兩級(jí)重點(diǎn)學(xué)科科研項(xiàng)目《大中小學(xué)一條龍英語人才培養(yǎng)模式研究》。

　　It is a special pleasure for me to join you today, and to receive an honorary degree from this distinguished institution of higher learning. The unique bonds between the United Nations and Seton Halls School of Diplomacy and International Relations date back to the founding of the School and the partnership role that UNA-USA played in that process. As you heard earlier, we are lucky to have Bill Lewis here with us, a great leader of the UNA-USA. They are being renewed today by the Schools visionary decision to accept the role of coordinating secretariat for the Year of Dialogue among Civilizations.　　I am grateful that the School of Diplomacy has agreed to support the work of my Personal Representative for the Dialogue among Civilizations, Giandomenico Picco. He has informed me of the important contribution that the School, under the leadership of Ambassador Constantinou, has made.　　Today, I wish to share some thoughts with you on the Dialogue among Civilizations, and how I believe the idea of such a dialogue is rooted in the fundamental values that the United Nations has sought to advance over half a century.　　The dialogue among civilizations should be held at Seton Hall, and it should be held at the United Nations, and wherever people of good will seek to bridge differences and advance peace, drawing on the best of humanitys rich and diverse past to improve our common future. In that spirit, let me thank you again for honouring me this evening.　　The eternally young spirit of America has been a source or strength all of you bring forth today and has been a beacon of hope to the world. That optimism, faith, and confidence in our country has made our country young.　　In my travels as speaker, I have met with presidents, prime ministers, and kings. But what impressed and inspired me the most were my encounters with young people. At a time when some world leaders question the value of constructive dialogue with our adversaries, young people are engaged in their own international dialogue, on campuses and through email and instant messaging and blogs. They are talking about their hopes for a brighter future —— of their desire for peace and prosperity.
