應(yīng)用型大學(xué)英語教程（第1冊）

前言

　　2004年，教育部制定了《大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)要求》，提出“大學(xué)英語的教學(xué)目標(biāo)是培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的英語綜合應(yīng)用能力，特別是聽說能力，使他們在今后工作和社會交往中能用英語有效地進(jìn)行口頭和書面的信息交流”?！　「鶕?jù)上述的教學(xué)要求，大學(xué)英語這門課程教學(xué)的中心任務(wù)，就是培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的“英語綜合應(yīng)用能力”。然而，這種綜合應(yīng)用能力的核心又是什么呢？語言教育學(xué)家海默斯（Hymes）從語言認(rèn)知和語言教學(xué)角度出發(fā)，對喬姆斯基（Chomsky）提出的語言能力（language competence）的概念做了釋義和擴(kuò)展，認(rèn)為語言交際能力（the communieative competenee）具有四個組成部分，即可能性（possibility）——生成合乎語法的句子的能力；可行性（feasibility）——生成能夠?yàn)槿四X所理解的句子的能力；適宜性（appropriateness）——在具體的社會變化場合準(zhǔn)確使用語言形式的能力；行事性（performance）——使用語言表達(dá)思想的行為或事物。后來，西方的一些語言教育學(xué)者和專家們就依據(jù)海默斯的觀點(diǎn)，擬定出了相應(yīng)的語言交際功能教學(xué)大綱、意念功能大綱和情景交際大綱等。迄今為止，在我國大學(xué)英語教育界，按照蔡基剛教授的說法，已經(jīng)編出和推出了四代大學(xué)英語教材。而當(dāng)前呼之欲出的該是第五代大學(xué)英語教材了。
