　　IdentjfyIng and Measuring the Wheelbase　　The wheelbase iS the distance between the center of the front wheel and the center of the rearwheel and iS normally the sanle on both sides of the vehicle.Some vehicles may have difierentwheelbase measurements from left to right.Before you take the measurements，always check themanufacturer's specifications. Two other dimensions should be noted：the overall length of the vehicle.rI'Ilis is the dis-tance between the front and real"extremities.The second iS the overall width of the vehicle.It i8the distance from the extreme right side to the extreme left side of the vehicle，but not usually in-cluding the external mirrors. These measurements are particularly important for legislative purposes.A vehicle’S overalllength and width can determine the roads where it can legally operate.　　識(shí)別和測(cè)量軸距　　軸距是指前輪中心和后輪中心的距離。汽車(chē)兩邊的軸距通常是相同的。有些車(chē)從左到右的軸距可能不同。測(cè)量軸距之前，應(yīng)先查看制造商的規(guī)格說(shuō)明書(shū)?！　∵€有兩項(xiàng)參數(shù)需要指出：車(chē)輛總長(zhǎng)，即指車(chē)輛前后兩端極點(diǎn)的距離。另一個(gè)是車(chē)輛總寬，即指車(chē)輛右端點(diǎn)到左端點(diǎn)的距離，但通常不包括外后視鏡?！　∵@些測(cè)量對(duì)立法機(jī)關(guān)尤為重要。車(chē)輛總長(zhǎng)和總寬決定車(chē)輛能否合法上路行駛?！　　?/pre>
