法律英語(yǔ)（上）

前言

　　隨著我國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)、文化和科技的不斷發(fā)展，社會(huì)對(duì)大學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)水平提出了更高的要求，大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)改革已成為社會(huì)關(guān)注的熱點(diǎn)之一。為了推動(dòng)大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)改革，教育部在總結(jié)近年來(lái)教學(xué)改革經(jīng)驗(yàn)的基礎(chǔ)上，對(duì)2004年頒布的《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)課程教學(xué)要求（試行）》進(jìn)行了全面修訂，并于2007年8月正式頒布了《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)課程教學(xué)要求》。與以往的《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)大綱》相比，新的《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)課程教學(xué)要求》從以下三個(gè)方面為大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)帶來(lái)了新的變化：1.培養(yǎng)目標(biāo)的變化?！洞髮W(xué)英語(yǔ)課程教學(xué)要求》提出，大學(xué)英語(yǔ)要培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的英語(yǔ)綜合應(yīng)用能力，在堅(jiān)持其通用基礎(chǔ)學(xué)科定位的同時(shí)，提出了與專業(yè)學(xué)習(xí)相結(jié)合的專門用途英語(yǔ)，以及以人文、國(guó)際交流為核心的文化素質(zhì)課程的定位；2.教學(xué)思想的變化。提出了自主學(xué)習(xí)的思想，鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生自主選擇學(xué)習(xí)內(nèi)容和學(xué)習(xí)方式；3.教學(xué)模式的變化。鼓勵(lì)在教和學(xué)的過(guò)程中使用以計(jì)算機(jī)為基礎(chǔ)的教育技術(shù)，拓展英語(yǔ)學(xué)習(xí)的渠道，增加語(yǔ)言練習(xí)的機(jī)會(huì)，提高語(yǔ)言輸入和輸出的質(zhì)量?！　∶鎸?duì)新的改革形勢(shì)，我們明顯感到，現(xiàn)行的以英語(yǔ)基礎(chǔ)能力發(fā)展為核心的大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教材體系難以適應(yīng)新形勢(shì)的需要，廣大師生也盼望著更多與國(guó)際文化知識(shí)、專業(yè)知識(shí)、學(xué)術(shù)交流相結(jié)合的新型英語(yǔ)教材，滿足正在出現(xiàn)的大學(xué)英語(yǔ)的多重定位、學(xué)生自主選擇學(xué)習(xí)內(nèi)容和基于計(jì)算機(jī)技術(shù)的自主學(xué)習(xí)方式等變化的需要。為此，我們提出開(kāi)發(fā)《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)選修課／學(xué)科課程系列教材》。本系列教材為“普通高等教育‘十一五’國(guó)家級(jí)規(guī)劃教材”，主要供完成《大學(xué)英語(yǔ)課程教學(xué)要求》中規(guī)定的“一般要求”后，繼續(xù)學(xué)習(xí)“較高要求”和“更高要求”英語(yǔ)課程的學(xué)生使用，也可供研究生及廣大專業(yè)技術(shù)人員學(xué)習(xí)專業(yè)英語(yǔ)、學(xué)術(shù)英語(yǔ)，提高英語(yǔ)綜合應(yīng)用能力使用。

　　Ms Diaz has told me that you are going to be at the shareholders meeting next Wednesday. Would　　you mind addressing the group briefly before the meeting starts? I think they would appreciate some basic information about things like what a spin-off is， why the spin-off will be done， etc. just so they can understand the rationale behind it better. Of course， its very important that they realise that the spin-off will not affect them negatively. I think 10-15 minutes will be enough for this， and then you and I could field their questions and try to clear up any misunderstandings.
