內(nèi)容概要

為了幫助廣大考生進(jìn)一步了解PETS，有效地備考和實(shí)戰(zhàn)，總主編張政嚴(yán)格按照教育部考試中心制定的《全國英語等級(jí)考試考試大綱(全新版)》，編寫了這套《全國英語等級(jí)考試考前沖刺》。
該套叢書針對(duì)PETS一至三級(jí)(包括一級(jí)的附屬級(jí)一級(jí)B)考試，分別編寫成冊(cè)。本書為其中的《全國英語等級(jí)考試考前沖刺(第1級(jí))》。
本書采用模塊化設(shè)計(jì)，共分聽力訓(xùn)練、單項(xiàng)選擇、完形填空、閱讀理解、書面表達(dá)、口語交流等6大模塊，每個(gè)模塊的各類題型各有7套模擬練習(xí)題；而后集中整合，配有3套綜合模擬題，供讀者自檢、自測(cè)，旨在使讀者能知彼知己、成竹在胸。

　　No one wants to be caught in the rain without an umbrella. Umbrellas come in different shapes and sizes. Many of them can be put into bags in case of a sudden rain. Just about everyone owns an umbrella, but not many of us give them a second thought. People don't know exactly where the first umbrella came into being. Some say Egypt while others say China. What is for sure is that they've been around a very long time. They weren't used to protect people from the rain, however. They were used to keep people from the sun.　　Women were the first people to carry umbrellas. In 1750, an Englishman decided to carry an umbrella everywhere he went, and he became the center of people's talk. Not caring about the laughs of those around him, he carried his umbrella for 30 years. Then, it became OK for men to carry umbrellas.　　Because they were firstly made of wood, umbrellas were not only expensive, but also difficult to use. In 1852, Samuel Fox made some changes. Since then, they've developed. We now have umbrellas for the rain and sun. We use them almost everywhere.　　……
