前言

  大學(xué)英語是學(xué)生進(jìn)入大學(xué)后必修的一門語言類課程。它既是一門語言技能基礎(chǔ)課程,又是一門跨文化交際能力培養(yǎng)課程,在人才素質(zhì)培養(yǎng)過程中起著舉足輕重的作用?! ≡诮?jīng)濟(jì)全球化進(jìn)程不斷加快的今天,我們需要不同層次的各類專業(yè)人才為社會(huì)服務(wù)。如何針對不同層次需求培養(yǎng)具有較高跨文化交際能力且滿足各類工作崗位需要的學(xué)生,是我國高等教育急需解決的一個(gè)課題。因此,開展教材建設(shè),采用多元化的人才培養(yǎng)模式組織教學(xué),按照學(xué)習(xí)對象各自不同的語言基礎(chǔ),構(gòu)建“分層教學(xué)、分類指導(dǎo)、分別達(dá)標(biāo)”的課程體系刻不容緩?!  队⒄Z讀寫教程》遵循“因材施教”的人本主義原則,充分考慮了學(xué)生的語言基礎(chǔ)現(xiàn)實(shí),采取由淺入深的編寫方法使教材能夠充分體現(xiàn)層次化和階梯化。目前,針對中等水平以上學(xué)生所編寫的教材已經(jīng)比較豐富,但針對中等水平以下學(xué)生所編寫的教材尚顯不足。鑒于此,編寫組展開充分的教學(xué)調(diào)研,深入了解這部分學(xué)生的學(xué)習(xí)需求,編寫了這套教材,以滿足教學(xué)的需要?!  队⒄Z讀寫教程》的編寫目的在于通過本教材的使用,使學(xué)生掌握2 500左右的單詞和短語,能夠讀懂中等難度以下的英語文章,了解一些西方文化,并能夠掌握一定的寫作技巧,具備一定的寫作能力。同時(shí)也兼顧對學(xué)生語音基礎(chǔ)和語法基礎(chǔ)的培養(yǎng),使學(xué)生具備一定的語感,為今后的學(xué)習(xí)打下堅(jiān)實(shí)的基礎(chǔ)。  本教程在編寫過程中充分考慮了學(xué)生的語言基礎(chǔ),注重內(nèi)容的趣味性、廣泛性、可思性和前瞻性,同時(shí)兼顧語言的規(guī)范性和文體的多樣性。在選材上,以話題導(dǎo)入教學(xué)內(nèi)容,所涉及的話題有大學(xué)生活、友情、餐飲、愛好、夢想、家庭、教育、節(jié)日、語言學(xué)習(xí)、網(wǎng)絡(luò)、時(shí)尚、幸福與成功、生活方式、道德與準(zhǔn)則、風(fēng)度、旅行、愛情、文化、藝術(shù)、環(huán)境、名人、科學(xué)、個(gè)性、媒體、冒險(xiǎn)、人與自然、經(jīng)濟(jì)、壓力、健康、災(zāi)難、社會(huì)問題和就業(yè)等方面。眾所周知,閱讀不僅是語言輸入的主要來源,也是聽、說、寫等其他技能提高的主要基礎(chǔ)。沒有足夠的語言輸入,其他技能的發(fā)展也會(huì)十分有限。為此,本教程補(bǔ)充了閱讀賞析材料,并力圖使其行文布局更有利于學(xué)生的自主學(xué)習(xí)?! 榱藢W(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)的方便和教師組織教學(xué)的高效運(yùn)行,編者精心設(shè)計(jì)了每個(gè)教學(xué)環(huán)節(jié)。首先,篩選出每個(gè)單元的重點(diǎn)詞進(jìn)行講解,并引導(dǎo)學(xué)生反復(fù)操練。其次,在課文前后根據(jù)教學(xué)需要配有相應(yīng)的練習(xí),逐步增強(qiáng)學(xué)生的語言基本功。為了更加全面地提高學(xué)生的語言能力,每個(gè)單元還設(shè)計(jì)了對話練習(xí)、寫作技巧、閱讀技巧以及語法的講解,并配有相應(yīng)的練習(xí),從理論和實(shí)踐兩個(gè)方面幫助學(xué)生提高閱讀和寫作能力?! 〈送?,本教程還重視學(xué)與練的結(jié)合,引導(dǎo)學(xué)生在教材上下功夫;通過同步練習(xí)測試,學(xué)生可以對學(xué)習(xí)效果進(jìn)行自我檢測;本教程還在附錄中增加了語音練習(xí)和閱讀欣賞,供學(xué)有余力的學(xué)生自主學(xué)習(xí)或供教師教學(xué)參考?!  队⒄Z讀寫教程》是編寫組集體智慧的結(jié)晶。上冊的主編為蘭州交通大學(xué)柏樺;副主編為賴露;參加編寫的還有蘭州交通大學(xué)付勇君、楊小榮、趙文瓊等。本教程在編寫過程中得到了美籍專家Jan Pope的幫助,她在審讀文稿的過程中,對文中表達(dá)不盡如人意之處做了修改。對于她的辛勤工作,編者表示衷心的感謝。另外,本書在編寫過程中還得到了高等教育出版社、蘭州交通大學(xué)教務(wù)處及外國語學(xué)院的大力支持,在此一并感謝。

內(nèi)容概要

  《英語讀寫教程(上)》針對在校大學(xué)生的語言基礎(chǔ)、思維能力和學(xué)習(xí)興趣的不同,材料選擇首先確定了學(xué)生感興趣的32個(gè)話題,力爭在選材時(shí)做到內(nèi)容豐富、題材廣泛以及體裁多樣。內(nèi)容主要從英美等國的報(bào)刊書籍以及網(wǎng)絡(luò)資源中選出,主要涉及語言、文化、習(xí)俗、科技、人物等,力求深入淺出。根據(jù)教學(xué)需要,編者對所選材料進(jìn)行了刪節(jié)、修改和簡化。課文長度為500—700詞左右,其重點(diǎn)在于加強(qiáng)學(xué)生的語言基本功,為后期的語言學(xué)習(xí)打下較為堅(jiān)實(shí)的基礎(chǔ)。
