英語讀寫教程（上）

前言

　　大學英語是學生進入大學后必修的一門語言類課程。它既是一門語言技能基礎課程，又是一門跨文化交際能力培養(yǎng)課程，在人才素質(zhì)培養(yǎng)過程中起著舉足輕重的作用?！　≡诮?jīng)濟全球化進程不斷加快的今天，我們需要不同層次的各類專業(yè)人才為社會服務。如何針對不同層次需求培養(yǎng)具有較高跨文化交際能力且滿足各類工作崗位需要的學生，是我國高等教育急需解決的一個課題。因此，開展教材建設，采用多元化的人才培養(yǎng)模式組織教學，按照學習對象各自不同的語言基礎，構建“分層教學、分類指導、分別達標”的課程體系刻不容緩?！　　队⒄Z讀寫教程》遵循“因材施教”的人本主義原則，充分考慮了學生的語言基礎現(xiàn)實，采取由淺入深的編寫方法使教材能夠充分體現(xiàn)層次化和階梯化。目前，針對中等水平以上學生所編寫的教材已經(jīng)比較豐富，但針對中等水平以下學生所編寫的教材尚顯不足。鑒于此，編寫組展開充分的教學調(diào)研，深入了解這部分學生的學習需求，編寫了這套教材，以滿足教學的需要?！　　队⒄Z讀寫教程》的編寫目的在于通過本教材的使用，使學生掌握2 500左右的單詞和短語，能夠讀懂中等難度以下的英語文章，了解一些西方文化，并能夠掌握一定的寫作技巧，具備一定的寫作能力。同時也兼顧對學生語音基礎和語法基礎的培養(yǎng)，使學生具備一定的語感，為今后的學習打下堅實的基礎。　　本教程在編寫過程中充分考慮了學生的語言基礎，注重內(nèi)容的趣味性、廣泛性、可思性和前瞻性，同時兼顧語言的規(guī)范性和文體的多樣性。在選材上，以話題導入教學內(nèi)容，所涉及的話題有大學生活、友情、餐飲、愛好、夢想、家庭、教育、節(jié)日、語言學習、網(wǎng)絡、時尚、幸福與成功、生活方式、道德與準則、風度、旅行、愛情、文化、藝術、環(huán)境、名人、科學、個性、媒體、冒險、人與自然、經(jīng)濟、壓力、健康、災難、社會問題和就業(yè)等方面。眾所周知，閱讀不僅是語言輸入的主要來源，也是聽、說、寫等其他技能提高的主要基礎。沒有足夠的語言輸入，其他技能的發(fā)展也會十分有限。為此，本教程補充了閱讀賞析材料，并力圖使其行文布局更有利于學生的自主學習?！　榱藢W生學習的方便和教師組織教學的高效運行，編者精心設計了每個教學環(huán)節(jié)。首先，篩選出每個單元的重點詞進行講解，并引導學生反復操練。其次，在課文前后根據(jù)教學需要配有相應的練習，逐步增強學生的語言基本功。為了更加全面地提高學生的語言能力，每個單元還設計了對話練習、寫作技巧、閱讀技巧以及語法的講解，并配有相應的練習，從理論和實踐兩個方面幫助學生提高閱讀和寫作能力?！　〈送猓窘坛踢€重視學與練的結(jié)合，引導學生在教材上下功夫；通過同步練習測試，學生可以對學習效果進行自我檢測；本教程還在附錄中增加了語音練習和閱讀欣賞，供學有余力的學生自主學習或供教師教學參考。　　《英語讀寫教程》是編寫組集體智慧的結(jié)晶。上冊的主編為蘭州交通大學柏樺；副主編為賴露；參加編寫的還有蘭州交通大學付勇君、楊小榮、趙文瓊等。本教程在編寫過程中得到了美籍專家Jan Pope的幫助，她在審讀文稿的過程中，對文中表達不盡如人意之處做了修改。對于她的辛勤工作，編者表示衷心的感謝。另外，本書在編寫過程中還得到了高等教育出版社、蘭州交通大學教務處及外國語學院的大力支持，在此一并感謝。

內(nèi)容概要

　　《英語讀寫教程（上）》針對在校大學生的語言基礎、思維能力和學習興趣的不同，材料選擇首先確定了學生感興趣的32個話題，力爭在選材時做到內(nèi)容豐富、題材廣泛以及體裁多樣。內(nèi)容主要從英美等國的報刊書籍以及網(wǎng)絡資源中選出，主要涉及語言、文化、習俗、科技、人物等，力求深入淺出。根據(jù)教學需要，編者對所選材料進行了刪節(jié)、修改和簡化。課文長度為500—700詞左右，其重點在于加強學生的語言基本功，為后期的語言學習打下較為堅實的基礎。
