前言

　　專門用途英語系列教材是教育部規(guī)劃的高等學(xué)校專業(yè)階段的英語教材。本系列教材從高等技術(shù)應(yīng)用型人才培養(yǎng)的總體目標(biāo)出發(fā)，結(jié)合學(xué)生畢業(yè)后的工作實(shí)際，力求向?qū)W生提供其未來工作崗位所需要的專業(yè)英語知識(shí)和技能，培養(yǎng)學(xué)生使用涉外業(yè)務(wù)英語的能力。本教材主要供高等院校（包括本科院校、高等專科院校和高等職業(yè)院校）專業(yè)英語教學(xué)使用，也可供電大、各類成人院校及廣大專業(yè)人員學(xué)習(xí)專業(yè)英語使用。《汽車英語》系專門用途英語系列教材的一種。隨著我國(guó)汽車工業(yè)的發(fā)展和汽車保有量的迅猛增長(zhǎng)，汽車品質(zhì)（設(shè)計(jì)與制造）、汽車使用與維修、汽車貿(mào)易和售后服務(wù)、汽車行駛安全和保險(xiǎn)理賠已經(jīng)成為現(xiàn)代社會(huì)生活的重要組成部分。這些領(lǐng)域中，中外汽車技術(shù)和服務(wù)合作不斷擴(kuò)大和增強(qiáng)，中國(guó)已成為展示世界汽車工業(yè)發(fā)展成果和水平的大舞臺(tái)，世界幾大汽車公司的品牌汽車在中國(guó)隨處可見。這些使得社會(huì)對(duì)汽車專業(yè)知識(shí)能力強(qiáng)、英語應(yīng)用能力又好的新型專門人才的需求急劇增加?！　镀囉⒄Z》的編寫旨在滿足社會(huì)對(duì)這方面人才的需求，著力培養(yǎng)學(xué)生汽車英語方面的閱讀能力、聽說能力和應(yīng)用寫作能力，最終實(shí)現(xiàn)提高學(xué)生的英語綜合運(yùn)用能力?！镀囉⒄Z》共10個(gè)單元，每個(gè)單元設(shè)計(jì)為一個(gè)主題，主要包括“應(yīng)用閱讀”（Practical Reading）、“實(shí)用寫作”（Practical Writing）和“聽與說”（Listening and Speaking）3個(gè)部分：“應(yīng)用閱讀”（Practical Reading）旨在培養(yǎng)學(xué)生閱讀汽車英語的能力。精選了A、B兩篇文章，所選材料既有汽車通識(shí)知識(shí)，也有展示當(dāng)今汽車最新技術(shù)的文章。其中內(nèi)容主要有：汽車發(fā)展史、世界主要汽車制造商簡(jiǎn)介、汽車常識(shí)、汽車種類、汽車發(fā)動(dòng)機(jī)、發(fā)動(dòng)機(jī)工作原理、汽車傳動(dòng)機(jī)構(gòu)、變速器、車架和懸掛系統(tǒng)、轉(zhuǎn)向與剎車系統(tǒng)、汽車電器、點(diǎn)火系統(tǒng)、電動(dòng)汽車、混合動(dòng)力（雙動(dòng)力）汽車、汽車維護(hù)、汽車市場(chǎng)營(yíng)銷、網(wǎng)上賣車、機(jī)動(dòng)車保險(xiǎn)和如何購(gòu)買車險(xiǎn)等，基本囊括了有關(guān)汽車的基本知識(shí)?！皩?shí)用寫作”（Practical writing）旨在給學(xué)生提供范文，讓學(xué)生參照范例擬寫和套寫應(yīng)用文體。內(nèi)容涉及名片和賀卡、便條、啟事、公證書、電子郵件、獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金申請(qǐng)信、備忘錄、英文摘要、簡(jiǎn)歷和求職信，最終提高學(xué)生英語應(yīng)用文寫作能力?！奥犈c說”（Listening and Speaking）旨在培養(yǎng)學(xué)生在實(shí)際語言環(huán)境下進(jìn)行有關(guān)汽車英語的聽說訓(xùn)練，以提高學(xué)生聽力與表達(dá)能力。內(nèi)容涉及到租車、搭便車、汽車加油、問路、修車、汽車拋錨、買車和駕車違章等情景對(duì)話。本教材打破傳統(tǒng)汽車英語編寫體例，增加了實(shí)用寫作和聽說部分，構(gòu)思獨(dú)特、實(shí)用性強(qiáng)，突出了汽車英語的涉外業(yè)務(wù)實(shí)際需要，選材新穎、知識(shí)體系完善、內(nèi)容豐富、語言規(guī)范、專業(yè)性強(qiáng)。每單元附有注釋，注有生詞和短語并配有適量練習(xí)，練習(xí)的設(shè)計(jì)具有實(shí)用性和針對(duì)性。考慮到本教材專業(yè)性比較強(qiáng)，為了方便教學(xué)，本教材書后附有課文參考譯文和練習(xí)答案。《汽車英語》的總主編為大連理工大學(xué)孔慶炎教授，主編為山東交通學(xué)院柳青軍教授和楊敏副教授，副主編為山東交通學(xué)院吳芷紅、劉素媛和隋志娟3位副教授。上海交通大學(xué)劉鴻章教授對(duì)全書進(jìn)行了審閱。
