前言
為了在新世紀(jì)努力完成第十一個(gè)五年計(jì)劃,實(shí)現(xiàn)基礎(chǔ)教育改革和高等教育改革是重要任務(wù)之一。這項(xiàng)艱巨和光榮的任務(wù)包括發(fā)展具有中國(guó)特色的職業(yè)教育。作為教育工作者,我們所要考慮的問(wèn)題是高職高專(zhuān)教育能否跟上我國(guó)教育改革的發(fā)展速度。再具體地說(shuō),作為外語(yǔ)教育工作者,我們更要具體考慮高職高專(zhuān)英語(yǔ)課程的改革和建設(shè)。顯然,這樣的改革和建設(shè)最后必然要落實(shí)在英語(yǔ)教材的編寫(xiě)上?! ∮筛叩冉逃霭嫔绮邉潱蓮?fù)旦大學(xué)、上海海事大學(xué)、蘇州大學(xué)、常熟理工學(xué)院等院校的英語(yǔ)教師通力合作編寫(xiě)的《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》便是在這樣的歷史背景下展現(xiàn)在我們眼前的?!陡呗毟邔?zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》的總體設(shè)計(jì)和定稿者是英語(yǔ)界享有盛譽(yù)的復(fù)旦大學(xué)朱永生教授和上海海事大學(xué)鄭立信教授。上海外文學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)長(zhǎng)盧思源教授審訂了全稿,使《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》獲得更令人放心的質(zhì)量保證。我謹(jǐn)在此向諸位學(xué)者和全體編寫(xiě)者表示衷心的祝賀?! 陡呗毟邔?zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》有眾多特色。我這里只能概而述之?! ∈紫龋呗毟邔?zhuān)英語(yǔ)教材的編寫(xiě)在我國(guó)曾經(jīng)是一個(gè)薄弱環(huán)節(jié)。過(guò)去有的出版社或教學(xué)單位由于缺乏編寫(xiě)經(jīng)驗(yàn)和力量,往往選用一些英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)本科的教材,或者是應(yīng)付四級(jí)考試的教材,倉(cāng)促上陣。更有甚者,直接從國(guó)外引進(jìn)。這樣,一方面我國(guó)高呼要發(fā)展具有中國(guó)特色的職業(yè)教育,一方面我們拿不出本土化的高職高專(zhuān)英語(yǔ)教材。有些高職高專(zhuān)學(xué)校的英語(yǔ)老師也曾嘗試自行編寫(xiě),但受水平所限,有一定困難。由高等教育出版社策劃,并由國(guó)內(nèi)名校和高職高專(zhuān)老師協(xié)力合作,專(zhuān)門(mén)編寫(xiě)了這套高職高專(zhuān)院校英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)適用的《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》,此舉應(yīng)予肯定。用本《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》編者的話(huà)說(shuō),本教材具有針對(duì)性?! ∵^(guò)去要求高職高專(zhuān)英語(yǔ)教材體現(xiàn)各種職業(yè)特點(diǎn)。這一點(diǎn)是無(wú)可厚非的。但多幾個(gè)專(zhuān)業(yè)術(shù)語(yǔ)不是英語(yǔ)教學(xué)所追求的惟一目標(biāo)。我們要考慮所學(xué)語(yǔ)言的應(yīng)用性,我們要考慮外語(yǔ)教學(xué)的科學(xué)性,我們還要考慮結(jié)合進(jìn)行人文教育和素質(zhì)教育的適用性。我們要培養(yǎng)的畢竟是人才。本《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》完全體現(xiàn)了這個(gè)精神。例如,《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》的內(nèi)容引導(dǎo)學(xué)習(xí)者如何體驗(yàn)學(xué)校生活,如何對(duì)待友情和親情,如何重視現(xiàn)代科學(xué),如何對(duì)待幸福和成功,等等,這些都關(guān)乎學(xué)習(xí)者的精神世界和行為準(zhǔn)則?! 〔徽撌菍W(xué)生用書(shū),還是教師用書(shū),編者們盡量貫徹“為使用者的需要著想”的原則,引導(dǎo)教師和學(xué)習(xí)者使用本教材、理解課文內(nèi)容以及操練各種習(xí)題等。只有這樣,才能貫徹協(xié)同式學(xué)習(xí)和自主性學(xué)習(xí)的先進(jìn)教學(xué)理念。也只有這樣,教師才能在教學(xué)過(guò)程中得到提高、趨于成熟,學(xué)習(xí)者才能通過(guò)自己的思考、學(xué)習(xí)、消化、吸收和掌握,在實(shí)際中應(yīng)用所學(xué)的語(yǔ)言。所謂教學(xué),離不開(kāi)教師和學(xué)習(xí)者的互動(dòng)?! ⊥?,作為使用者的教師和學(xué)習(xí)者為一方,與本《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》的編寫(xiě)者和出版者為另一方,也存在一個(gè)互動(dòng)過(guò)程。相信本《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》出版后,高職高專(zhuān)的教師和學(xué)生會(huì)有很大受益,也會(huì)給編者和出版社及時(shí)反饋,使《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》進(jìn)一步完善。
內(nèi)容概要
《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程》是在改革開(kāi)放向縱深發(fā)展和國(guó)際交往日趨頻繁的新形勢(shì)下專(zhuān)門(mén)為我國(guó)高等專(zhuān)科學(xué)校和高等職業(yè)學(xué)校英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)生以及同等水平的英語(yǔ)自學(xué)者編寫(xiě)的一套教材。《高職高專(zhuān)綜合英語(yǔ)教程(學(xué)生用書(shū)1)》的編寫(xiě)以《高職高專(zhuān)教育英語(yǔ)課程教學(xué)基本要求(試行)》為基準(zhǔn),并參考《全國(guó)高等學(xué)校英語(yǔ)專(zhuān)業(yè)教學(xué)大綱》對(duì)基礎(chǔ)階段,即1、2年級(jí)的要求。本教程共分四冊(cè)。每?jī)?cè)由8個(gè)單元組成。每個(gè)單元包含TEXT A和TEXT B兩篇課文。其中TEXT A需要精講精練,TEXT B是對(duì)TEXT A的擴(kuò)展,可以作為補(bǔ)充閱讀材料處理。

1 It was New Years night. An aged man wasstanding at a window. He raised his mournful eyestowards the deep blue sky, where the stars werefloating like white lilies on the surface of a clear, calmlake2. Then he cast them on the earth, where thosefew more hopeless than himself now moved towardstheir goal —— the tomb3. He had already passed sixtyof the stages leading to it, and he had brought fromhis journey nothing but errors and remorse4. Now hishealth was poor, his mind vacant, his heart sorrowful,and his old age short of comfortss. 2 The days of his youth appeared like dreams before him, and he recalled the seriousmoment when his father placed him at the entrance of the two roads6, one leading to apeaceful, sunny place, covered with flowers, fruits and resounding with soft, sweet songs; theother leading to a deep, dark cave, which was endless, where poison flowed instead of waterand where devils and poisonous snakes hissed and crawled7. He looked towards the sky and cried painfully, "Oh youth, return! Oh my father, placeme once more at the entrance to life, and Ill choose the better way!" But both his father andthe days of his youth had passed away. He saw the lights flowing away in the darkness; these were the days of his wasted life. Hesaw a star fall from the sky and disappear, and this was the symbol of himself. His remorse,which was like a sharp arrow, struck deeply into his heart8. Then he remembered his friends inhis childhood, who entered on life together with him. But they had made their way to successand were now honored and happy on this New Years night9. The clock in the high church tower struck and the sound made him remember hisparents early love for him. They had taught him and prayed to God for his wellbeing1~. Buthe chose the wrong way. With shame and grief, he no longer dared to look towards thatheaven where his father lived. His darkened eyes were full of tears, and with a despairingeffort, he cried out11: "Come back, my early days! Come back!"
