《新編實用英語》系列教材是由教育部高職高專教育英語課程教學指導委員會根據(jù)《高職高專教育英語課程教學基本要求(試行)》組織編寫的?！缎戮帉嵱糜⒄Z》(第二版)系列教材是在《新編實用英語》(第一版)的基礎上修訂而成。本套教材認真貫徹了“學一點、會一點、用一點”、“聽、說、讀、寫、譯并重”和“邊學邊用、學用結(jié)合”的原則。注重聽說技能訓練，注重對實用文體閱讀能力的培養(yǎng)，將應用語言基本功的能力與實際涉外交際相結(jié)合。
本套教材還注重“教、學、考”相互照應。學完第2冊可參加“高等學校應用能力考試”的B級考試，學完第4冊可參加A級考試。
本書為《新編實用英語學學·練練·考考2》(第二版)，共8個單元，編排模式與主教材基本相同，每個單元都由“說”、“聽”、“讀”和“寫”
4部分組成，另有一個“小幽默”。書后有自測題、練習答案和譯文以及生詞表。本書附有多媒體學習課件光盤一張，并配有錄音帶。
