前言

  《大學(xué)英語泛聽教程》自2000年問世以來,受到廣大師生和英語學(xué)習(xí)者的青睞,先后被全國百余所高校選用。該教材編寫的最初意圖是為校園英語電臺提供廣播資源,內(nèi)容上注重趣味性和實用性。由于教材內(nèi)容和形式的鮮明特點,許多高校還將其用作非英語專業(yè)本科生及研究生的聽力主干教材?! ‰S著經(jīng)濟(jì)全球化進(jìn)程的加快,社會各方面對大學(xué)生的英語應(yīng)用能力提出了更高的要求。信息與通訊技術(shù)(ICT)的迅猛發(fā)展,為現(xiàn)代語言學(xué)習(xí)者學(xué)習(xí)機(jī)會的最大化奠定了堅實的基礎(chǔ)。教育部高等教育司2007年7月頒布的《大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)要求》規(guī)定: “大學(xué)英語的教學(xué)目標(biāo)是培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的英語綜合應(yīng)用能力,特別是聽說能力,使他們在今后工作和社會交往中能用英語有效地進(jìn)行口頭和書面的信息交流,同時增強(qiáng)其自主學(xué)習(xí)能力,提高綜合文化素養(yǎng),以適應(yīng)我國社會發(fā)展和國際交流的需要。”教材作為教學(xué)改革的重要方面和教學(xué)思想的重要載體,理應(yīng)有其新的功能。  基于大學(xué)英語學(xué)習(xí)者對教材的新需求和《大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)要求》賦予教材的新使命,我們啟動了《大學(xué)英語泛聽教程(全新版)》的編寫項目。該教材于2006年被列入普通高等教育“十一五”國家級規(guī)劃教材,由河北科技大學(xué)、四川大學(xué)、華中科技大學(xué)等高校的多位英語教學(xué)專家和資深教師經(jīng)過廣泛地調(diào)研論證及精心地設(shè)計,共同編寫完成?! ?.編寫理念  《大學(xué)英語泛聽教程(全新版)》著眼于大學(xué)英語教學(xué)改革的新趨勢,結(jié)合《大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)要求》的最新內(nèi)涵,體現(xiàn)與“基于計算機(jī)和課堂的英語教學(xué)模式”的對接,營造語言學(xué)習(xí)環(huán)境,讓學(xué)生在休閑中學(xué)習(xí),在沉浸中成長,力求體現(xiàn)現(xiàn)代英語教學(xué)的有關(guān)理論和方法,突出個性化“教”與“學(xué)”,通過大量的真實實用的語言輸入,給學(xué)習(xí)者提供良好的聽力練習(xí)與模仿機(jī)會,為學(xué)習(xí)者用英語表達(dá)自己的思想打好堅實的基礎(chǔ),并使學(xué)生在提高聽說能力的同時得到精神上的享受,使學(xué)習(xí)者在愉快中求發(fā)展,在發(fā)展中求愉快。

內(nèi)容概要

《大學(xué)英語泛聽教程(全新版)》全套教材共四冊。本書為第一冊,包括20個單元,每單元由三部分組成:第一部分Live Input為主體部分,全部選用原版有聲資料,如電影片段、新聞、演講詞、訪談等,旨在為學(xué)習(xí)者提供題材廣泛、流暢自然的“活英語”;第二部分Leisure Time為休閑時刻,主要包括歌曲、詩歌和幽默,供聽者欣賞放松;第三部分Dillls為練習(xí)部分,包括短對話、長對話、短文。題型有選擇題、判斷題、填空聽寫及復(fù)合式聽寫等。對聽力技能進(jìn)行綜合訓(xùn)練,培養(yǎng)學(xué)生的快速反應(yīng)、準(zhǔn)確辨別、分析推理、歸納總結(jié)、信息處理及記憶和記錄等能力。     本書每單元可用于約2學(xué)時的課堂教學(xué),使用時可根據(jù)情況靈活掌握。書后附有錄音原文及參考答案,并配有mp3光盤,以方便學(xué)生課外自學(xué)。

  A listener has written from China for advice about how to lose weight. Michael in Shanghaisays he is twenty-six years old and has battled obesity for most of his life.  Doctors say obesity, also known as severe overweight, is a complex condition. A doctormay advise medical interventions in addition to changes in behavior. But experts say the mostsuccessful weight-loss plans include a well-balanced diet and exercise.  People who want to avoid weight gain have to balance the number of calories they eat withthe number of calories they use. To lose weight, you can reduce the number of calories you takein, or increase the number you use, or both.  Experts at the National Institutes of Health say to lose weight, a person should do an hourof moderate to intensive physical activity most days of the week. This could include fast walking,sports or strength training. You should also follow a nutritious eating plan and take in fewercalories than your body uses each day.  A recent study looked at four of the most popular dieting plans in the United States.Researchers at Stanford University in California studied more than three hundred overweightwomen, mostly in their thirties and forties. Each woman went on one of the four plans:Atldns, The Zone, Ornish or LEARN. The women attended diet classes and received writteninformation about the food plans. At the end of a year, the women on the Atkins diet had lost themost, more than four and one-half kilograms on average. They also did better on tests includingcholesterol levels and blood pressure.  Christopher Gardner led the study, reported in the Journal of the American MedicalAssociation. He says the Atkins diet may be more successful because of its simple message tolower the intake of sugars. Also, he says the advice to increase protein in the diet leads to moresatisfying meals. He says there was not enough money to also study men, but that men wouldprobably have similar results.  But last week, another report suggested that only a small minority of people have long-term successwith dieting. The report in the journal American Psychologist was based on thirty-one studies.
