　　Operating the NC machine　　After starting the NC machine, the operator can freely change the position of the tool bypressing buttons.It is possible to move the table either very fast or very slowly. Adesired increment can also be made as small as a fraction of a thousand of a millimeter.　　By jogging, the operator brings the tool to the reference position and sets this positionthrough the control panel.The NC tape is now fed into the tape reader sectionof the machine control unit. A press of a button in automode enables the machine tool tomachine the blank and allow the desired error. During the machining of the workpiece it canbe observed that the machine tool stops now and then and the operator needs to refer to thepart program. During these stops either he may turn to check if everything is going on all rightor he could change the tool for the next cutting operation. After these temporary stopovers,the machine cycle could again be started from the control panel. The machine can also beoperated.
