文化交流英語

前言

　　隨著英語教學(xué)的改革和發(fā)展，大學(xué)新生入學(xué)后很快完成大學(xué)英語基礎(chǔ)階段學(xué)習(xí)，并通過四、六級考試的人數(shù)在不斷增加，大學(xué)英語高年級階段教材的需求也相應(yīng)地在快速增長。為此，我們編寫了大學(xué)英語高級階段專門用途英語系列教材。本系列教材以需求分析（Needs Analysis）為基礎(chǔ)，以社會語言學(xué)、行為語言學(xué)和教育心理學(xué)等理論為指導(dǎo)，以滿足各領(lǐng)域?qū)W生對于英語學(xué)習(xí)的不同需要為目的，力求以新的教材編寫理念向?qū)W生提供其未來工作和學(xué)習(xí)所需的實用英語技能和實踐機會。本系列教材包含了文化交流英語、學(xué)術(shù)活動英語等。　　這套教材可以從不同角度比較全面地滿足大學(xué)英語高年級階段的學(xué)生對于英語的多元化要求，在鞏固和拓寬原有知識和技能的基礎(chǔ)上提高學(xué)生的英語應(yīng)用能力。本套教材的特點是使用時伸縮自如、側(cè)重靈活、適用面廣、實用性強，也符合教育部高教司“大學(xué)英語改革工程”所確定的加強實用性英語教學(xué)、全面提高大學(xué)生英語應(yīng)用能力的教改方向。《文化交流英語》以介紹中國優(yōu)秀的傳統(tǒng)文化為主線，共分10章節(jié)，涵蓋10個精選的中華文化板塊，主題內(nèi)容具有代表性、民族性和趣味陸，包括：舞臺藝術(shù)（戲劇、民樂、曲藝等）；筆墨藝術(shù)（文房四寶、書法、國畫等）；建筑藝術(shù)（亭臺樓閣、四合院、園林等）；文學(xué)藝術(shù)（詩、詞、歌、賦、中國文字等）；飲食文化（中餐、小吃、茶藝等）；節(jié)日習(xí)俗（傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日、民俗、慶典等）；名勝古跡（長城、敦煌石窟、兵馬俑等）；服裝飾品（旗袍、扇子、中國結(jié)、蠟染等）；修身養(yǎng)性（太極、武術(shù)、中醫(yī)藥等）；思想意識（儒、道、佛教、傳統(tǒng)道德觀等）。每個單元的組成部分為：熱身問題（Walk-Up Question）：3-5個相關(guān)的討論題，使學(xué)生熱身，做好進入主題的思想準備。聽懂與說出山listen in and speak out）：三篇對話、段落或獨白輸入，六項以“說出”為主、以“聽懂”為輔的聽說技能訓(xùn)練題。　　讀懂與寫出（Read in and write out）：三篇閱讀文章輸入，兩篇以中國傳統(tǒng)文化為內(nèi)容，一篇與英美文化作對比。六項以“寫出”為主、以“讀懂”為輔的技能訓(xùn)練題。　　引進與推出（Introduce in and present out）：其中包括：1.文化寶庫；2.交際實踐；3.能力拓展。

And SO l went to China and met my great.grandmother.My great.auntpicked me up at the training center,and we rode in a taxi through the capitalcity.We finally stopped in front of fl narrow street lined on either side withsmall one-story houses.My great.aunt led me through a dark doorway into aroom with a furnace，a table，and a rocking chair where an old woman，coveredwith a brown blanket，wearing gloves sat facing the doorway.1 walked overand immediately embraced this frail old woman as if I had known her all mylife.My stilted broken Chinese wasnt up to expressing my complicatedfeelings.Even though I couldnt completely understand what she was sayingin her thick Beijing accent，I knew her meaning-the same way I knew whatmy mother had been trying to tel]me before I left.Her elation beamed throughher toothless smile.She wouldn’t let go of my hand.I haltingly asked herhow she had managed to live such a long life.She answered in words 1 willnever forget.“Hope has kept me alive.I have lived this long because l wantedto see my son before I died.” My fellow teammates must have wondered how two people separatedby three generations could be SO close.Before this trip，1 would have wonderedthe same thing.And even now,l Cant quite explain it。We were as different astwo people can be；some 85 years and 8 000 miles apart.We came from twoentirely different cultures；yet we were connected by a common heritage.
