前言

  《綜合英語教程》第一版問世以來,得到了全國上百所普通高等院校英語專業(yè)老師和學(xué)生的支持,為我國英語專業(yè)基礎(chǔ)階段的教學(xué)作出了很大的貢獻。隨著社會的發(fā)展,我國英語專業(yè)基礎(chǔ)階段的教學(xué)出現(xiàn)了許多變化,為了適應(yīng)這些變化,編寫組于2002年起對本教材進行了全面的修改。第二版充分反映了教師們開展教學(xué)實驗的結(jié)果,修改和刪除了一些不受學(xué)生和教師歡迎、課堂操作困難或過于機械的項目,增加了課堂效果良好的、有助于促進學(xué)生在語言和知識兩方面發(fā)展的任務(wù)和內(nèi)容,并根據(jù)課堂實驗重新編寫了內(nèi)容更加豐富的教師用書。編寫組認為,教材的修訂不應(yīng)僅僅是課堂操作層面上的改進,還應(yīng)反映學(xué)科的最新變化,以及當(dāng)前外語教學(xué)領(lǐng)域開展的一些重要變革。眾所周知,在最近5年里,教育界發(fā)生了很大的變化,外語教育也不例外。教學(xué)觀念、教學(xué)手段、學(xué)習(xí)目的和學(xué)習(xí)方法都產(chǎn)生了巨大的變化,其中最突出的是對學(xué)生主體的重新認識。教學(xué)界重新認識到教師必須根據(jù)學(xué)生的認知需要、情感需要和語言交流的需要來開展教學(xué),這一原則在第二版教材中有如下體現(xiàn):1.強調(diào)“以學(xué)生為中心,以教師為主導(dǎo)”的觀念。第二版教材在教學(xué)活動的設(shè)計上,強調(diào)從學(xué)生已有知識出發(fā),引導(dǎo)學(xué)生去探索未知的知識;教師在引導(dǎo)過程中,及時為學(xué)生傳授語言和知識。2.第二版教材強調(diào)教材和教師在語言示范方面的共同作用。傳統(tǒng)教材以教學(xué)材料為主要的語言示范工具,這對學(xué)習(xí)者的語言習(xí)得有極大幫助。但是,這種靜止式的語言示范有很大的局限性,它排斥了語言教師的動態(tài)語言示范作用,教師無法準確地把握學(xué)生語言發(fā)展和學(xué)生交際需要之間的關(guān)系。第二版教材采用“靜止式示范(Single-mode Modeling)”與“動態(tài)式示范(Interactive Modeling)”相結(jié)合的模式,強調(diào)教師通過語言交流活動,發(fā)現(xiàn)學(xué)生的交際需要,采用有針對性的“動態(tài)語言示范”,創(chuàng)造讓學(xué)生“頓悟”語言的機會。3.第二版教材同時強調(diào)語言的“正面”和“負面”輸入(Positive and Negative Input)。語言的“正面輸入”指的是教師、教材以及教學(xué)活動和環(huán)境為學(xué)生提供的正確的語言形式,“負面輸入”指的足學(xué)生在語言活動中得到的有關(guān)其語言錯誤的信息。近年來的研究已經(jīng)證實,有些語言錯誤可以隨著語言的發(fā)展而自行得到糾正,但也有許多語言錯誤必須得到及時的糾正,這種動態(tài)“負面輸入”對學(xué)生的語言發(fā)展極為重要。4.第二版教材更加強調(diào)語言學(xué)習(xí)的自主性。語言教學(xué)要讓學(xué)生獲得語言知識,但是也要讓學(xué)生學(xué)會自己去發(fā)現(xiàn)語言知識。學(xué)生通常必須在有意義的思維活動的基礎(chǔ)上,在真實性交際需要的驅(qū)動下才能尋找到能刺激語言發(fā)展的語言形式。第二版教材重新設(shè)計了許多符合當(dāng)代青年學(xué)生特點的任務(wù),鼓勵他們將自己的生活經(jīng)驗與語言活動、語言學(xué)習(xí)聯(lián)系起來,從而獲得自主發(fā)現(xiàn)語言形式的機會。5.第二版教材增加了大量的任務(wù)型活動(Task-based Activities)和研究型活動(Enquiry-based Activities)。有的活動印在學(xué)生用書上,有的收入教師用書。一般來講,學(xué)生用書提供的活動要求學(xué)生獨立思考,錘煉語言;教師用書的任務(wù)在開展活動時由教師復(fù)印發(fā)給學(xué)生,這更有利于教師組織課堂活動。編寫組在實驗中發(fā)現(xiàn),語言學(xué)習(xí)的機會不僅產(chǎn)生于課前已經(jīng)準備好的活動中,也產(chǎn)生于課堂活動的過程中。第二冊學(xué)生用書主要修改了對話、閱讀理解問題,原來的“角色表演”改為“任務(wù)型”活動,第三部分的擴充閱讀后將部分討論題改變成“任務(wù)型”活動。第三部分的詞匯學(xué)習(xí)(Word study)增加了詞匯講解部分,講解內(nèi)容放在教師用書中,由教師掌握。

內(nèi)容概要

《綜合英語教程》(第二版)是高等學(xué)校英語專業(yè)綜合英語課教材,也可供師專、師范、教育學(xué)院及社會上英語自學(xué)者學(xué)習(xí)使用。全套書共分6冊,均配有教師用書和錄音磁帶。    本書為第二冊,共15個單元,每單元由三大部分組成:聽說訓(xùn)練(Ustening and Speaking Activitics)、閱讀理解和語言操練(Reading Comprehension and Language Activities)以及擴展性練習(xí)(Extended Activities)。第二冊在第一冊的基礎(chǔ)上加大了語言訓(xùn)練難度,對學(xué)生聽說讀寫技能的發(fā)展提出了新的要求。

  which is the best. By one estimate, almost one billion people watched the 1982 cham-pionship game on television. People in Asia had to get up in the middle of the night to see Italy beat West Germany on TV in a game played in Spain.The World Cup began in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1930. At the time, it did not seem like a true world competition since only 13 teams decided to play, and eight of them were from South America. The team from Uruguay won. In 1934 and 1938, the Cup was held in Europe. More than 30 teams played in each of these competitions, and Italy won both of them. The larger number of teams meant hat some rules had to be changed There were too many teams playing, so they had to have elimination matches first. Some of the games were played in countries other than the host country. This system is still used today, and only the 24 teams left afterelimination actually compete for the Cup.There were no World Cup championships in 1942 or 1946 because of World WarII. The cup itself was hidden during the war. This beautiful cup is about ten inches highand has the shape of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, on it. It is named for a personwho helped organise the World Cup, Jules Rimet.When Cup play started again in 1950, there was little enthusiasm. It was like 1928all over again: Only 13 teams competed, the games were in Brazil, and Uruguay won.But the worldwide interest in soccer came back during the next four years. By the timeWest Germany won in Switzerland in 1954, millions of people wanted to go to thematches.In 1958, when the games were held in Sweden, interest was once again very high.Fifty-three teams wanted to compete. Many elimination matches were held in differ-ent parts of the world to get the number of teams down, and only the last 16 teams wentto Sweden. This was the first time that the world saw Pel6. His team, from Brazil, wonthe Cup for the first time that year, and Pel6 became the greatest soccer player of all time.In the past 30 years, soccer has become the sport of the world. Each World Cup is more successful than the last. Since 1966, probably one-quarter of the world has listened to or watched the championship game.
