內(nèi)容概要

本書(shū)以Internet為主用自頂向下的方法講述計(jì)算機(jī)網(wǎng)絡(luò)。本書(shū)打破以往講網(wǎng)絡(luò)必以O(shè)SI七層協(xié)議模型為基本的傳統(tǒng)，而代之以成熟且實(shí)用的TCP/IP五層協(xié)議體系，同時(shí)采用符合認(rèn)知規(guī)律的順序，自頂向下地由應(yīng)用層到物理層順序講述計(jì)算機(jī)網(wǎng)絡(luò)的基本原理及應(yīng)用技術(shù)。
　　本書(shū)的特點(diǎn)：一是在結(jié)構(gòu)上更符合人的認(rèn)知規(guī)律，更容易激發(fā)讀者的學(xué)習(xí)興趣和積極性；二是在內(nèi)容上做到按需學(xué)習(xí)，除第一至第五章為必授章節(jié)外，其余章節(jié)可多可少、可前可后地講授；三是包含了應(yīng)用開(kāi)發(fā)與Socket編程的內(nèi)容，這是其他同類(lèi)教科書(shū)所不多見(jiàn)的。其源代碼多用C++與Java編寫(xiě)，并在AddisonLongman公司的網(wǎng)站上有大量的Applet及源代碼、PowerPoint演示文本；四是本書(shū)中包含了對(duì)網(wǎng)絡(luò)理論或應(yīng)用做出過(guò)巨大貢獻(xiàn)的人物專(zhuān)訪，以使學(xué)生了解這些巨人們當(dāng)初做出這些重大發(fā)明或發(fā)現(xiàn)時(shí)的創(chuàng)造精神。

作者簡(jiǎn)介

Jim Kurose is Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  　　He is the eight-time recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award from the National Technological University, the recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award form the College of Natural Science and Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts, and the recipient of the 1996 Outstanding Teaching Award of the Northeast Associations of Graduate Schools. He has been the recipient of a GE Fellowship, an IBM Faculty Development Award, and a Lilly Teaching Fellowship.
