　　全國大學(xué)生英語競賽（National English Contest for College Students，簡稱NECCS）是經(jīng)教育部批準(zhǔn)，由高等學(xué)校大學(xué)外語教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會和高等學(xué)校大學(xué)外語教學(xué)研究會聯(lián)合主辦，英語輔導(dǎo)報社承辦的全國唯一的大學(xué)英語綜合能力競賽。本競賽旨在配合教育部高等教育教學(xué)水平評估工作，貫徹落實教育部關(guān)于大學(xué)英語教學(xué)改革精神，促進大學(xué)生英語水平的全面提高，激發(fā)學(xué)生學(xué)習(xí)英語的興趣，鼓勵英語學(xué)習(xí)成績優(yōu)秀的大學(xué)生?！　「傎悆?nèi)容主要包括大學(xué)英語學(xué)習(xí)階段應(yīng)掌握的英語基礎(chǔ)知識和讀、聽、說、寫、譯五方面的技能，特別是英語綜合運用能力。從2007年起，競賽分A、B、C、D四個類別，全國各高校的研究生及本、專科所有年級學(xué)生均可自愿報名參賽。A類考試適用于研究生參加：B類考試適用于英語專業(yè)本、?？茖W(xué)生參加；C類考試適用于非英語專業(yè)本、專科學(xué)生參加；D類考試適用于體育類和藝術(shù)類的本科生和高職高專類的學(xué)生參加?！　「傎惙殖踬惡蜎Q賽兩個階段進行，初賽和決賽均為全國統(tǒng)一命題。初賽包括筆試和聽力兩種方式。決賽分兩種方式，各地可任選一種：第一種是只參加筆試，第二種是參加筆試和口試。只參加筆試的學(xué)生的決賽成績滿分（含聽力）為150分，既參加筆試又參加口試的學(xué)生賽卷的筆試卷分數(shù)為150分（含聽力），口試卷分數(shù)為50分，滿分是200分?！　∶磕旮傎悤r問基本上都是初賽安排在四月中旬，決賽在五月中旬，由全國大學(xué)生英語競賽組織委員會辦公室統(tǒng)一制作賽卷（包括答題紙）和聽力磁帶（包括聽力賽卷）。賽題依據(jù)《大學(xué)英語課程教學(xué)要求（試行）》命題，學(xué)習(xí)借鑒國內(nèi)外先進的測試理論和方法，既有利于檢測出參賽大學(xué)生的實際英語水平，又有利于大學(xué)英語教學(xué)的改革。

　　Your passport is your official identification as an American citizen. In America， mostpeople never consider obtaining a passport unless they are planning a trip out of the country. Apassport is final proof of identity in almost every country in the world. In 1979 almost 15million Americans held passports. Most of these passports were obtained to travel outside thecountry because， except for a few Western nations， passports are required to enter everycountry. And if you travel abroad， you must have a valid passport to reenter the country.　　When traveling abroad， you will need a passport for identification when exchangingdollars for francs or marks or other foreign currency. You may also need your passport to use acredit card， buy an airplane ticket， check into a hotel or casino.　　Dont confuse passports and visas. Whereas a passport is issued by a country to itscitizens， a visa is official permission to visit a country granted by the government of thatcountry. For some years， many countries were dropping their visa requirements， but that trendhas reversed. Argentina， Brazil， and Venezuela now require visas from U.S. citizens. Theymay be obtained from the embassy of the country you wish to visit.　　Passport applications are available at passport agency offices in large cities like Boston，New York， or Chicago. In smaller cities， applications are available at post offices and atfederal courts. To get your first passport， you must submit the application in person， alongwith a birth certificate and two pictures.　　Maybe because most Americans use their passports only when traveling and because theyare good for five years， many people lose their passports. Any every passport is worththousands of dollars to smugglers or criminals who desire to enter this country illegally orassume a false identity. Travelers should keep their passports in their pockets or pocketbooksat all times； never pack them or leave them in a room or automobile； when you arrive backhome， store your passport in a safe or safety deposit box. And report a lost or stolen passportimmediately； it is literally your identity.
