偏微分方程的數(shù)值解法對于許多技術(shù)的發(fā)展都有著重要意義,而求偏微分方程的數(shù)值解已經(jīng)成為并行計算機硬件和軟件發(fā)展的目標;并行計算機性能的大大提高,使得以前很難處理的問題變得可以常規(guī)計算。 1997年6月9日~13日,IMA舉行了一場關(guān)于偏微分方程的并行解的專題學(xué)術(shù)討論會,本卷收錄的論文即基于會上所作的演講,其中主要是關(guān)于新的近似方法和能利用并行計算機的求解技術(shù)的發(fā)展及評述。本書論題主要包括區(qū)域分解方法、并行多重網(wǎng)格方法、向前跟蹤方法、稀疏矩陣技巧、自適應(yīng)方法、虛域方法及時間和空間離散方法。本書還討論了各種方法分別在流體動力學(xué)、輻射傳輸、固體力學(xué)及半導(dǎo)體仿真中的應(yīng)用。
