偏微分方程的數(shù)值解法對(duì)于許多技術(shù)的發(fā)展都有著重要意義,而求偏微分方程的數(shù)值解已經(jīng)成為并行計(jì)算機(jī)硬件和軟件發(fā)展的目標(biāo);并行計(jì)算機(jī)性能的大大提高,使得以前很難處理的問(wèn)題變得可以常規(guī)計(jì)算。 1997年6月9日~13日,IMA舉行了一場(chǎng)關(guān)于偏微分方程的并行解的專(zhuān)題學(xué)術(shù)討論會(huì),本卷收錄的論文即基于會(huì)上所作的演講,其中主要是關(guān)于新的近似方法和能利用并行計(jì)算機(jī)的求解技術(shù)的發(fā)展及評(píng)述。本書(shū)論題主要包括區(qū)域分解方法、并行多重網(wǎng)格方法、向前跟蹤方法、稀疏矩陣技巧、自適應(yīng)方法、虛域方法及時(shí)間和空間離散方法。本書(shū)還討論了各種方法分別在流體動(dòng)力學(xué)、輻射傳輸、固體力學(xué)及半導(dǎo)體仿真中的應(yīng)用。
